Stouffer's

The STOUFFER'S® Brand traces its roots to 1922, when Abraham and Mahala Stouffer opened a small coffee shop in Cleveland, Ohio featuring delicious home - made food. The couple's sons, Vernon and Gordon, later opened a chain of popular restaurants. At their first suburban restaurant, in the Shaker Square area of Cleveland, customers began asking for take - out versions of their favorite meals to enjoy with their loved ones at home. As demand grew, Vernon began freezing popular items and selling them at a retail outlet nearby. By 1954, the family had founded the frozen food operation bearing its name. It is this family heritage that you bring home every time you put a STOUFFER'S meal in your shopping cart. From those days in Cleveland, STOUFFER'S has been devoted to bringing families together around a table of delicious food.

Simplot J.R.

'Jack' Simplot began his colorful career at the age of 14 when he quit school and went into business on his own in 1923, near the small farming community of Declo, Idaho. By the early years of World War II, the Simplot Company had become the largest shipper of fresh potatoes in the country and was selling millions of pounds of dehydrated onions and potatoes to the military. When wartime shortages made it difficult to buy fertilizer, Jack built a manufacturing plant in Pocatello, Idaho, and produced his own. That kind of ingenuity and determination continued during the early 1950s as the Simplot Company created and marketed the first commercially viable frozen french fries in the world.

Mr. Rossi was born in Italy on the island of Sicily and immigrated to the United States when he was 21 years old. His first involvement with the Florida citrus industry was fresh fruit gift boxes sold by Macey's and Gimbells department stores in New York City, New York. In 1947, Rossi settled in Palmetto, Florida and began packing fruit gift boxes and jars of sectioned fruit for salads under the name Manatee River Packing Company. As the fruit segment business grew, the company moved to a larger location in east Bradenton, Florida and its name was changed to Fruit Industries. At the east Bradenton location, Rossi began producing frozen concentrate orange juice as a natural extension of the fruit section business. This section of Mr. Rossi's business would blossom monumentally to what is known today as Tropicana Orange Juice and Fruit Juices, the most popular mainstream store bought orange juice, fruit juices in the United States.

Yoplait

In 1964, over 100,000 French farmers merged their regional dairy cooperatives in order to sell their yogurt on a national level. In 1965, two coops, “Yola” and "Coplait," decided to merge, becoming "Yoplait." The development of this brand was based on the dynamics of local entrepreneurs, to whom the brand is franchised. In 1969, the first franchise was allowed in Switzerland. Yoplait is now present in almost 50 countries in the world. To most Yoplait equals only one thing, delicious.
